Rome Unlocked is a 62-page travel guide to Rome for first-time and returning visitors. It covers what to see, the history behind it, and how to plan the trip without stress. It's organised into eight chapters:
Welcome to Rome. Why the Eternal City still tops travel lists, a quick-facts panel (about 2.8 million residents, best months April–June and September–October), answers to common first-timer questions, and a one-day walking route.
The Story of Rome. From the legendary founding in 753 BC through the Republic, the Empire, the Renaissance and modern Italy. It explains how the city was built in layers over the centuries.
Ten Places You Can't Miss. The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's, Trastevere and the Borghese Gallery. Each comes with ticket prices, time needed and insider tips, including the new €2 entry ticket at the Trevi Fountain in 2026.
Plan Before You Go. When to go, getting around, what to book ahead, daily budgets (from about €45–70 a day on a budget), dress codes and staying safe.
Where to Stay. The main neighbourhoods compared (Centro Storico, Monti, Trastevere and others), with typical room prices and booking tips.
Rome Itineraries. Ready-made 3, 5 and 7-day plans, grouped by area so you spend less time crossing the city, plus day trips such as Ostia Antica and ideas for rainy days.
People and Culture. How Romans live and eat: coffee etiquette, classic dishes, festivals and football, and a list of do's and don'ts.
Your Rome Toolkit. A trip checklist, official booking websites and final advice.
